Vesid Program Requirements
ADULT CAREER & CONTINUING EDUCATION SERVICES
Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) services individuals with disabilities that interfere with obtaining employment, maintaining steady employment, or who have difficulty advancing at their current place of employment. Vesid Program services may only be provided if your goal is to remain employed.
To apply or be referred for Vesid Program services, you are required to be at least 14 years old and must be available to participate in the vocational rehabilitation process. There is no specific length requirement for residency in New York State. If you are not a United States citizen, you must provide proof that you are allowed to work in the United States as determined by the United States Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services.
Vesid Program has 15 district and 10 satellite offices located across New York State. The State's vocational rehabilitation (VR) program is administered through our Central Office located in the NY State Education Department in Albany, NY.
AMERICAN BARBER INSTITUTE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Social Security Card
- High School Diploma (HSD) or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- If you don’t have an HSD or GED ABI will administer entrance exam prior to enrolling
- If you have a HSD from a foreign country, you have to submit notarized translation and copy of the original document
- Must be 17 years of age
- Proof of address
- Photo Identification
